One click to a dated policy and a cookie banner you can genuinely refuse, in front of the hardest privacy writing any bank here publishes.
How many clicks to find the privacy policy from the homepage?
One click, from the homepage footer. “Privacy policy” goes straight to the document, with a clear title and “Last Updated: June 8, 2026” on the second line. No hub, no country picker, no download. The only brand in the Canadian financial set to manage it.
Is there a meaningful choice about cookies and tracking before data is collected?
Two buttons, both on the banner. “Allow all” and “Allow necessary” sit side by side, so refusing is one click at the same level rather than a step behind a settings panel. What it lacks is category control: there are two buttons and no way to accept some things and not others, which is what holds it below full marks.
How hard is the policy to read, how much of it is there, and can you get it in one piece?
Grade 14.7 across 4,515 words, in one place plus a short cookie note. Difficulty 0, length 3, access 3. The policy alone measures Grade 15.0 with a Flesch reading ease of 29.8 and a quarter of its words three syllables or longer, which makes it the hardest privacy prose of any financial institution measured here. It is also short and one click away, and that is what rescues the score. Measure it yourself.
How many clicks to reach data settings, and can you delete your account yourself?
Settings for some of it, an email address for the rest. The policy says you may update profile information by logging in and opening Settings, and that access requests go to privacy@wealthsimple.com. The self-serve part is real and login-gated with no guest route; the data right itself is correspondence.
Find the support page. How many clicks, and is there a way to speak to a human?
A human in one click. “Contact us” from the homepage footer reaches Client Success, with 1-855-255-9038 and live chat, no account needed.
Overall finding

Wealthsimple is the highest-scoring bank-like institution in the index outside a credit union, and everything it does well is structural: the policy is one click away, it is dated, it is short, and the cookie banner offers a refusal that costs the same as agreement. Then you read the thing. The company that built its name explaining money in plain language writes about your data at a postgraduate reading level, harder than any bank it competes with. Being easy to reach is not the same as being easy to understand.
