One of the best consent gates in the batch, and every privacy right routed to the same inbox as a lost parcel.
How many clicks to find the privacy policy from the homepage?
One click, from the footer. “Privacy Policy” opens as a web page, with a California notice anchored inside the same document rather than split out into another one.
Is there a meaningful choice about cookies and tracking before data is collected?
Three buttons, measured at the same size to the pixel. Cookies Settings, Reject All and Accept All Cookies each render at 470 by 42, with four categories behind the settings button. There is nothing to choose between refusing and agreeing, which is the whole test.
How hard is the policy to read, how much of it is there, and can you get it in one piece?
Grade 14.2 across 3,987 words, in one place. Difficulty 0, length 3, access 4. Short, and among the harder documents measured here: the difficulty mark is the floor. Measure it yourself.
How many clicks to reach data settings, and can you delete your account yourself?
Every right, by email, to the general contact address. Access, deletion and correction all go to contactus@rarebeauty.com, which is the same address the site gives for orders and products. Appeals go to the same place. Opting out of targeted advertising is handed to your browser, by way of a legally recognized opt-out signal. There is no request form and no address that exists only for privacy.
Find the support page. How many clicks, and is there a way to speak to a human?
A phone number, with hours. The contact page publishes 1-888-892-RARE, Monday to Friday, 7am to 4pm Pacific, alongside live chat and hello@rarebeauty.com. Very few brands in this index publish a number at all.

Rare Beauty is a study in how independent these five dimensions really are. Its consent gate is as good as any in the index, its support is better than almost all of it, and it publishes a phone number with hours, which is rare enough to be worth saying twice. Then every privacy right it grants is routed to the same inbox that handles a missing order, and the way out of targeted advertising is to configure your own browser. The gate is excellent. There is almost no lever behind it.
