Beauty · theouai.com

15 out of 20 Trust-aware

The footer sends you to a 20,699-word Procter & Gamble policy that never mentions OUAI once, and the consent banner is switched on for Maryland alone.

Transparency, Consent, Clarity, Control, Empathy · clockwise from the top
01
Transparency 4 / 4

How many clicks to find the privacy policy from the homepage?

One click, from the footer, onto another company’s domain. “Privacy” opens privacypolicy.pg.com. OUAI belongs to Procter & Gamble and publishes no policy of its own. The click count is what this dimension measures, and it is one.

02
Consent 2 / 4

Is there a meaningful choice about cookies and tracking before data is collected?

A banner configured for one American state and nobody else. OUAI runs OneTrust with two rules. The rule covering the state of Maryland carries ShowAlertNotice true and a “Reject all non-essential cookies” button. The other rule covers 211 countries, Canada among them, and carries ShowAlertNotice false. Forty-four cookies are set on arrival. A footer control called “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” does open a working P&G consent panel, which is why this is a 2, but nothing on the page announces it.

03
Clarity 1 / 4

How hard is the policy to read, how much of it is there, and can you get it in one piece?

Grade 12.7 across 20,699 words, and not about OUAI. Difficulty 1, length 0, access 2. This is the second longest document measured in this index, behind Meta, and the brand name does not appear in it a single time. A customer following the only privacy link OUAI offers lands in a corporate policy covering every P&G brand on earth, and has to work out for themselves which parts apply. Measure it yourself.

04
Control 4 / 4

How many clicks to reach data settings, and can you delete your account yourself?

Your Privacy Choices, one click from the footer. The link opens P&G’s preference centre and its data request forms, usable without an account, and the contact page repeats the route for erasure, access and opt-out requests. P&G also publishes a privacy officer address.

05
Empathy 4 / 4

Find the support page. How many clicks, and is there a way to speak to a human?

“If you need to talk to a human.” The contact page says exactly that, then gives team@theouai.com and a text line, with a service portal and a form beside them. One click from the footer.

Overall finding

15 out of 20 Trust-aware

OUAI is what a brand looks like after an acquisition has been fully digested. The support is warm and written by someone who knows the customer, and the privacy experience belongs to Procter & Gamble: 20,699 words that never say OUAI, and a consent banner whose only live rule is the state of Maryland. The machinery behind it is genuinely good, a working preference centre and real data request forms one click away, which is more than most of this batch offers. It is simply not addressed to the person who bought the shampoo.
