A banner whose only button is Close, in front of ten tracking identifiers.

Transparency, Consent, Clarity, Control, Empathy · clockwise from the top
01
Transparency 4 / 4

How many clicks to find the privacy policy from the homepage?

One click, from the footer, to somebody else’s policy. Joe Fresh publishes no privacy policy of its own. The footer link goes to Loblaw’s corporate policy, effective 1 July 2026, which governs the whole group. It is one click and it opens as a web page, so the placement is good; the document a shopper lands on simply belongs to a different company.

02
Consent 1 / 4

Is there a meaningful choice about cookies and tracking before data is collected?

A notice with a Close button. “We respect your privacy” explains that Joe Fresh and its partners use cookies to personalize ads on its own and third-party sites, links the Loblaw policy, and offers exactly one control: Close. There is no accept, no decline and no preferences. Ten tracking identifiers are already set when it appears, among them Google Analytics, Meta, TikTok, Snapchat and Microsoft.

03
Clarity 2 / 4

How hard is the policy to read, how much of it is there, and can you get it in one piece?

Grade 13.5 across 5,990 words, in one place. Difficulty 1, length 2, access 4. Measured on Loblaw’s document, because that is the one Joe Fresh sends you to. Measure it yourself.

04
Control 2 / 4

How many clicks to reach data settings, and can you delete your account yourself?

A privacy address at the parent. loblawprivacy@loblaw.ca is named in the policy. Nothing self-serve exists for a Joe Fresh shopper.

05
Empathy 4 / 4

Find the support page. How many clicks, and is there a way to speak to a human?

A phone number and a form, one click away. Contact Us carries 1-855-322-2522 alongside a chat and a categorized enquiry form.

Overall finding

13 out of 20 Compliance-bound

Joe Fresh tells you what it is doing and gives you no way to answer. The banner names ad personalization on third-party sites, which is unusually candid, and then the only button is Close. Candour without a control is just a better-informed lack of choice, and the ten identifiers were set before the sentence was read.
